Cyber Bulllying is the act of abusing someone over the internet, over text, or over email. Children ages from 9 up to 18 can be the victims of cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is an easy act to commit. Since cyber bullying is done via interent and phones it can follow a victim making it seem that there is no escape. People who commit cyber bullying can easily get away with it because it is not face to face and anyone can send something out and never reveal themselves.

Affects

The issue is that 10% of 7-9 graders are experiencing cyber bullying. This type of bullying can be more serious because it is not seen in public. Cyber bullying connects the subtopic relationship because it happens every day, and cyber bullying is a sort of abusive relationship between by the victim and the perpetrator. Bullying can seriously damage physical, social and emotional health. Students who are bullied are more likely to have low self-esteem and poor assertiveness skills. This can affect their psychological and mental health, and result in academic difficulties due to social exclusion, peer rejection, depression, and negative self-perceptions. Bullying victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider committing suicide. Nearly 43% of kids have been bullied online. 1 in 4 has had it happen more than once. 70% of students report seeing frequent bullying online. Cyberbullying can happen anywhere where a teenager can have access to internet. Social networking sites are the biggest place where cyberbullying is committed. Cyberbullying can happen anywhere around the world. It is mostly common is the US and Europe.

Solutions

To prevent of try to stop cyber parents and teachers can try to monitor what goes on the children’s social networks, phones, emails, etc. This can help stop the bullying before it gets serious. The key it to report it when seen, and try to help as much as possible.
