There are many ways that you can be peer pressured. For instance, you may be pressured to try drugs, sex, and alcohol or just pressured to fit in and go with the crowd. You may have that one friend that is a bad influence and pressures you to do some of this stuff with them even if you may not want to. The best thing you can do is just say no and walk away.

Ways to Stop Peer Pressure:

One way you can stop peer pressure is maybe the parents can set certain rules and consequences that their child has to follow or also as the parent, you can just simply talk to your child and help them make decisions. Another idea is to limit overnight visits and how long they can stay out, and ask questions about their friends, like what do they like about their friend? One last idea is to let them know if you think one of their friends is a bad influence, in a nice matter though.

How to Avoid Peer Pressure:

In order to avoid peer pressure, if you are about to do something that your friends are pressuring you to do stop and ask yourself, "What if". For example, what if you were at a party and someone brought pills? What if you were about to get in a car with someone, but they were drunk? Just question like these. You can also use the line “that your parents would kill you” to avoid doing something you don't want to do. Now, if you know you're about to hang out with people that would pressure you into trying something, than you can make up things that will help you get out of pressuring situations before hand, like blaming it on your parents or something like that.
