Fashion- without this word, it’s hard to fit in anywhere. But what role does it play in the lives of modern teens? Fashion designates the constantly changing direction of public taste. Currently with recent trends it seems that modern youth fashion doesn’t always change for the better. In today’s world, people try to keep their identity in the clothes they dress in. There is an aspiration to stand out from the crowd.

Fashion is something that dictates how people live, eat, sleep, travel, etc. Fashion has a huge impact on people, but while some people take it for granted, others don't pay much attention to it and live the way they like. However, fashion mostly dominates over the younger generation and teenagers. In this case it forms their outlook, a living position, ideals which can seem simply absurd in the adult person’s viewpoint. So how does fashion influence the identity of the person and his or her behavior in society?

Fashion changes the outlook of young people in many ways. It shows needs of the person's –aspiration to define themselves, aspiration "to be unique" and to strive "to be the best". Young people demonstrate this desire to express their identity or on the contrary, to follow the crowd.

The development of fashion helps transfer certain foundations from the older generation to the youth. Fashion serves to introduce culture to young people. For teenagers the opinion of others means much more than their own individual development. It is the time when fashion helps them choose their values, tastes, interests and priorities.
